Yesterday I intended to catch up a bit and schedule some more to get ahead but something terrible happened so I didn’t. My dad was talking in a confused manner and seemed to be very ill – an ambulance came to pick him up from my parents’ house and I was able to get there straight from work in time to see him before they took him to the hospital. Mum accompanied him and I held down the fort at their house. I was very worried and sad. It was scary!
miracle, wonder, marvel
However, the story has a very happy ending because the hospital gave him some excellent care (God bless the NHS) and the issue turned out just to have been “a long faint” with peculiar behaviour following it. Dad appears back to his usual self now, less than 24 hours after it happened. Wow! Now I am really happy 🙂
[I] am happy
In fact, I feel relieved!
[I] feel relieved/relief
Before publishing this entry I contacted one of the patron saints of annotranslate to check I had understood 安心 and its usage correctly. He confirmed that what I have written above is OK, but naturally he couldn’t resist expanding with an extra nugget:
(しんぱい が あんど さ れました)
“shinpai ga ando sa remashita”
[my] worries were relieved
Drama like this puts things into perspective and makes me determined to work harder on everything in my life, including this blog! 🙂
